QUICK HITS: What Goes Around, Comes Around, Even For Chuck Muth!

And now for tonight’s “Foot In Mouth” award:

So, on December 21st Chuck Muth, upset that I would have the nerve to file a complaint against him, decided to do what he does best.  Attack!  Among other things he hammered me for an errant link I posted.  What did he have to say?

“I also found it funny that in trying to link to his opponent, incumbent Commission Chuck Roberts, Bob instead linked to the Wikipedia page of the former CNN news anchor of the same name. Real attention to detail there, huh? Surprised he also didn’t claim Chuck was married to Cokie Roberts!”

I was nice enough to thank Chuck for pointing out my error.

Tonight Chuck Muth managed to brighten my evening.  Through one of his many websites/news letters “Silver State Confidential” Chuck issued the following statement”

CAUCUS BOO-BOO

My bad.  I provided a bad link to pre-register for the Clark County GOP prez caucus on Saturday in tonight’s Silver State Confidential.  The correct link (I hope!) is…

http://www.ccrp2012caucus.org

It’s good to know I’m not the only one capable of making a simple error.  I guess what goes around – comes around – even for Mr. Perfect!

Thanks for the laugh Chuck!

QUICK HITS: 2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 15,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

QUICK HITS: Chuck Muth – He Must Be a South Pole Elf!

Chuck, Chuck, Chuck – you are a funny man.

Today Chuck Muth decided to make lil ol’ me the focus of his Muth’s Truths segment.  Does that mean I’ve made it in the world?

Anyway, Muth is attacking my candidacy for Lyon County Commissioner.  So I thought I would share a bit of reality.  Something Mr. Muth often tries to avoid. Regarding Chuck’s claims that I am carrying water for Jon Ralston and Orrin Johnson – First,  I have never met nor spoken with Ralston.  True I have emailed him a couple times and he has returned some.  I believe the last was to wish his daughter well after the death of her mother.  Second, I did meet Johnson a couple months ago but that was long after my disagreements with Muth started.  Now that my friends is a scandal!

Speaking of Muth’s statement that during the Tarkanian campaign he blocked me because of my “mindless quotes” (scratching head), as I recall on several occasions I asked you to rebut my statements and give facts to show I was wrong.  Chuck – I’m still waiting.  Reality is after failing to post my comments (as you have admitted doing to others) or proving me wrong, you instead decided to kick me off your site.  You rambled on about throwing my coat and shoes on your living room floor or something.  So I guess you took your website and went home.

Chuck – remember that telling lies will get you put on the “naughty list”.

Also, I have thanked you in the past for suggesting I start a blog.  But I must thank you again, twice.  First – thank you so much for pointing out that the link to the Chuck Roberts’ page was incorrect.  Realistically the Lyon County Chuck Roberts would not have a Wiki-page.  The link came about because WordPress automatically put it in.  Now, that is no excuse.  I should have checked that link.  Funny how mistakes on the internet happen?  I bet that was how the email for Richard McArthur was sent out by the Citizen Outreach Foundation.  It was all just one big internet mistake.  Don’t ya hate when that happens?

Also, thank you for all the web traffic.  Your little, as you call them, e-hissy fit has a lot of people going to my site.  You are so sweet to do that.

Oh and one last thing – woe is me.  Here we are six months before the primary, three months before I can even file, six days after announcing and I only have one official endorsement.   Your right Chuck – I guess I should pack up my tent and call it quits.

May I give you a little advice Chuck?  You seem a bit angry.  Are you a little tense?  Does life have you down?  It’s the holiday’s man.  You should be happy.  Remember the words of Buddy the Elf

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”

Merry Christmas Chuck!

QUICK HITS: Citizen Outreach Foundation Complaint Filed (See Here)

Tis true.  As Jon Ralston tweeted earlier Battle Born Politics (i.e: Robert Hastings) has filed a complaint with the IRS regarding the promotion of a candidate participating in an election by the Citizen Outreach Foundation.  That would be a violation of the COF’s 501(c)(3) status.  Copies were also sent to the Nevada AG and SOS.  Now there are only two things to do:

1) Wait for the IRS to rule

2) Wait for Chuck Muth to attack and tell me how wrong I am and how I don’t understand

QUICK HITS: A Funny Thing Happen To Me on the Way to the GOP Meeting

QUICK HIT #1: Saturday morning was our monthly Lyon County Republican Central Committee meeting.  The room was packed as in addition to all the regular attendees we had several candidates or their representatives for upcoming elections on hand.  After our first two speakers, Dan Schwartz (CD04) and Jim Wheeler (Assembly District 39), our Chairman once again moved to the front.  Dr. Titus then announced that speaking for Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich was none other than Tiffiny Ruegner (better known to me as the Field Director for the Tea Party Express).  I thought young lady looked familiar but had no idea this was “Tiffiny”.

For those who have not followed BBP very long let me fill you in.  I have written many articles about the Tea Party Express.  They are the PAC that brought you Sharron Angle, another 6 years of Harry Reid, Joe Miller, Christine O’Donnell and many more.  The TPX is a group that on the surface appears to be upright and working for the cause.  Unfortunately when you get down to the reality of it they are a front group for Russo, Marsh and Associates who are doing nothing more than lining their pockets at the expense of the real Tea Partiers.  I only wish Tiffiny was able to stick around longer.  That could have been a fun conversation.

QUICK HIT #2: It was good to hear from some of the lesser know candidates on Saturday.  Dan Schwartz was in attendance with his team as he works towards a CD04 bid.  My friend, Jim Wheeler, was there as well.  Jim is running in the primary for State Assembly District 39 currently held by Kelly Kite.  I encourage everyone to listen to all candidates.  You never know what you might learn.  In listening to Jim I found out a couple things I didn’t previously know.

QUICK HIT #3: Getting back to the Tea Party Express and their “ka-ching” money making, everyone should be aware that they have started yet another PAC.  That’s right, the Tea Party Express (Russo, Marsh and Associates) have the newly developed Defeat Barack Obama PAC up and ready to take your hard earned cash.  Of course the claim is that the TPX and the Defeat Obama PACs are completely separate but a quick look at the leadership teams of both show a great deal of co-mingling.  Just one more nightmare, er fantasy, brought to you by Sal Russo, Joe Wierzbicki and all their friends.

QUICK HITS: CHUCK MUTH: Pot Meet Kettle #2

Today Chuck Muth put out his latest version of “Silver State Confidential”.  I’m curious if Muth can even define the word “hypocrite”?

Today he once again rails on Jon Ralston.  Now I’m not going to defend Ralston at all.  Jon can handle that himself.  Besides, I wouldn’t want to be called a “liberal” by Muth for pointing out the facts.  But Muth calls out Ralston for ridiculing “conservativeDemocrat State Sen. John Lee.

He refers to Ralston for tweeting about Lee “”Trivia: Which was longer, Kim Kardashian‘s marriage or John Lee’s #nv04 candidacy? Answer: Lee by month-plus. Equal chance of success, too.” (a funny line actually) and also a quote by Ralston  that “Lee now may face a primary challenge from Assemblyman Kelvin Atkinson, who is what is known as an actual Democrat.”

Yes Chuck, you’re correct.  Jon Ralston’s quotes show complete disdain for the “conservative” Democrat Lee.  Why that would be as bad as a Conservative “journalist/blogger” attacking a “Republican” assemblyman for being “too liberal”– like when you said of State Assemblyman Mark Sherwood:

“We have Republican candidates who profess to be conservatives, only to go to Carson City and vote for higher taxes, higher spending and bigger government (Hello, Mark Sherwood!). But if a conservative Republican activist criticizes them for voting like a Democrat, it’s the conservative activist who is criticized for being a “bad Republican” for criticizing the….bad Republican.”

or

“Now, I’m not saying Mark is a RINO; I’m saying he’s the Nevada GOP’s village idiot. And this flake is so cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs that I’ve found myself asking if he’s the kind of loon who might sneak into my home and boil our kids’ rabbit in a big pot of water?”

or

“My distinguished friend, Assemblyman Mark Sherwood – who desperately wants folks to believe he really, really, really and truly is a conservative – certainly didn’t vote that way. He posted only an anemic 53.97%….a mere ten points higher that Stewart’s embarrassingly low score for someone (falsely) claiming to be a conservative.”

Chuck – it’s fine to attack Ralston.  But when you do try not to shoot yourself in the foot as well!

QUICK HITS: Tarkanian vs. Amodei in NV02 and NV04 Endorsements

Earlier this week Danny Tarkanian spoke to Nevada News Bureau editor, Elizabeth Crum.  At the time he stated he was taking the Thanksgiving Holiday before making his final decision regarding a possible run in the newly formed NV04 Congressional District.  Since then a couple more State Republicans have thrown their endorsements behind Barbara Cegavske.  I contacted Danny to see if he was concerned regarding the Cegavske endorsements and would he consider moving his decision date up?

When I spoke with Tarkanian about the endorsements falling into Cegavske’s lap he stated he was not at all concerned.  He understood that the endorsements are coming to Cegavske, a good friend of the Tarkanian’s, before any other candidates had officially declared including him.  He also stated that he is enjoying his vacation with family and has no intention to speed up his decision.

Danny said over the long months of a campaign many strange and unexpected things can happen.  As an example he mentioned a conversation he had with the wife of Congressman Joe Heck.  While attending the Southern Hills Republican Women luncheon last week Danny spoke with Lisa Heck.  This was just a couple days before Congressman Heck threw his endorsement behind Cegavske.  According to Tarkanian, Lisa Heck suggested TWICE during the conversation that Tarkanian skip a run in NV04 and instead should run against Congressman Mark Amodei in NV02

So I guess now we can sit back and wait for Thanksgiving to pass to see what Danny Tarkanian’s final decision will be.

Happy Holidays!

QUICK HITS: Why Does The GOP Keep Losing?

So you want to know why the GOP continues to struggle.  Let me give you one example.  Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips just couldn’t help but put a nail in the GOP coffin.  Phillips, once a supporter of Herman Cain, apparently has become frustrated with his former choice and Cain’s many missteps.  So what did Phillips have to say?

“I was wrong about Herman Cain…I said originally that Cain could stay on message better than almost any other candidate. His 9-9-9 plan was all he would talk about and I attributed that to good messaging on his part. I was wrong.”

And if that were not bad enough he followed those statements up with:

“Herman Cain needs to leave the race because he is not qualified to be President. The video is painful to watch. It is obvious Cain is in over his head and simply clueless.”

Now I’ll admit Mr. Cain has not helped himself.  But he is also not dead.  There is still a chance he can redeem himself and get the GOP nod.  And my question to Mr. Phillips is, should that happen how long before the Dems create a commercial with the leader of one of the largest Tea Party groups calling Cain “clueless” and saying he’s “not qualified”.

I guess Mr. Phillips sees 4 more years of Obama as a better option than Herman Cain!!!
